Playful maternity session in Whitefish, Montana

This playful Whitefish, Montana maternity session was such a joy to photograph! Brittany and Joel were visiting Glacier National Park with their family and decided it was the perfect time and place to announce their pregnancy. With the breathtaking Montana landscape as their backdrop, their session was nothing short of magical!

When Brittany first reached out, she was looking for a location that captured Montana’s stunning mountain views but didn’t require the time commitment of entering Glacier National Park. Since they were staying in Whitefish, we decided on Belton Stage Park—a favorite of mine (you can also check out this stunning elopement at Belton Stage Park here)! This location offers open fields with stunning views of Glacier’s peaks, making it the perfect setting for their maternity photos. The golden field and the mountain backdrop created a dreamy, romantic atmosphere that was perfect for their maternity session!

We met up just before sunset, my favorite time of day for golden, dreamy lighting. Brittany and Joel were so natural in front of the camera—full of laughter, playful energy, and sweet moments together. They had just found out they were expecting a baby girl, so they brought a gorgeous pink bouquet from Mum’s Florals to incorporate into their announcement. It was the perfect touch! Brittany’s baby bump was just starting to show, and it made for the cutest detail in their session. Seeing their excitement and love for each other made the entire experience so fun and beautiful.

Capturing moments like these is what makes maternity photography so special. The excitement, love, and anticipation of welcoming a new life into the world are truly priceless. Every maternity session tells a unique story, and it’s always an honor to document this season of life!
