Callie and Clinton’s Glacier National Park elopement at Big Bend is easily one of my favorite elopements from last season! These two traveled all the way from Virginia to get married in Glacier, and their day ended up being such a fun mix of adventure, sweet moments, and some of the wildest wind I’ve ever experienced during an elopement!
We met up that afternoon at Sun Point for their first look and ceremony. And let me tell you, it was windy. It was hands down the windiest day I had in Glacier all season.
Luckily, we were able to find a little tucked away spot in the trees that helped block some of the wind. It made the ceremony feel even more intimate being surrounded by the trees. Callie and Clinton had their first look, exchanged vows, officially got married, and then we went and hid from the wind in the trees while they signed their marriage license and shared communion together.
Afterward, we stepped out toward the overlook for a few quick portraits at Sun Point. And when I say quick, I really mean quick! I think we lasted maybe five minutes before the wind reminded us it was time to move on. Still totally worth it for those photos though!

From there we hopped in the car and started making our way down Going-to-the-Sun Road. We made a stop at one of the waterfalls along the road, and somehow timed it so that the light there was absolutely perfect! I’ve photographed that spot several times, but this was easily the best lighting I’ve ever had there. There were also wildflowers growing along the side of the road, which made the whole stop feel extra magical.

We then made our way to Big Bend and spotted a grizzly bear on our way!!! It was rolling around up on the Highline Trail. Wildlife sightings are always exciting in Glacier, but seeing a grizzly during an elopement day is always a treat! I wish I had my longer lens on at the time, but it was still incredible to watch from from our cars!
Eventually we made it to Big Bend just in time for sunset, which was the perfect ending to their Glacier National Park elopement at Big Bend. The light that evening was so soft and beautiful over the mountains. Callie and Clinton popped a bottle of champagne and shared a toast with their custom champagne glasses before we wandered around the area, taking photos while the sun dipped behind the mountains.

One of my favorite things about their day was how intentional Callie was with all the little details!
Her bouquet from Mum’s Florals incorporated both her favorite color and Clinton’s favorite color. Callie’s sister surprised her with the sweetest detail: a ribbon tied around the bouquet with their dog’s face embroidered on it. She also had their wedding date and initials embroidered onto her gloves, which I was completely obsessed with! It went so well with her elegant wedding dress.
Clinton added some personal touches too. The day before their elopement, he customized his hat at a local shop in Montana. And one of the sweetest moments was that he helped Callie do her hair before everything started!
Their Glacier National Park elopement at Big Bend was truly so special to be a part of. And It was such a joy getting to document this adventure with them. Check out their day on both digital and film below!
