Kate and Jake’s elopement day at Under Canvas Glacier, just outside of Glacier National Park, was truly one for the books! Their day was intimate, emotional, and centered around what mattered most…celebrating their marriage with their closest family and friends! From getting ready at Under Canvas Glacier to ending the evening with dinner in Whitefish, everything about their wedding day felt intentional and true to who they are as a couple.
The day began at Under Canvas Glacier, which is one of the coolest and most unique places to stay near Glacier National Park. This location is made up of beautifully designed yurts. It’s such a unique and fun place to stay at for your wedding weekend if you are looking for a fun glamping location!
Once everyone was ready, we made the short drive into Glacier National Park. One of the best parts about choosing Under Canvas Glacier for an elopement is how close it is to the park. Tt’s only about a ten-minute drive to the West entrance, making it easy for your guests. Kate and Jake’s ceremony took place at Sprague Creek, along Lake McDonald, which is one of my favorite ceremony spots in the park!
As the ceremony began, there wasn’t a single dry eye, and I truly mean that. Kate and Jake’s family, their friends, Jake himself, and yes… even me behind the camera were all emotional! Jake’s reaction to seeing Kate was one of the sweetest moments of the entire day. The bond they have with their friends and family was truly so special to witness and you could really feel it during their ceremony.
After the ceremony, we spent time taking portraits along the shores of Lake McDonald. It was a hot and sunny day, but we embraced it and made the most of the beautiful light and scenery. From there, we headed to Belton Stage Park for more portraits. This area offered a slightly different backdrop to add some variety to their photos. Belton Stage is such a great spot because it has wide open fields, with Glacier as the backdrop.
To wrap up the celebration, everyone met for dinner at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake. It was the perfect way to end the day! Everyone shared dinner, toasts, and of course cake! One of the most touching details was that Kate wrote a personal card for each guest, paired with a photo of them. Watching friends and family read their notes was incredibly sweet, and once again… not a dry eye in the room.
Kate and Jake’s elopement at Under Canvas Glacier was the perfect example of how meaningful an intimate Glacier National Park wedding can be. Being able to witness and document a love like theirs in a place as stunning as Glacier National Park is something I’ll always be grateful for.
