Playful, adventurous family session in Polebridge, Montana

This Polebridge Montana family session with Shayna and her precious family is one that I am so excited to share! When Shayna reached out to me about capturing family session this past fall, I was so honored. Shayna a talented photographer and videographer in the area, so being trusted to document her family meant the world to me! You should check out her incredible work here!

We chose to head up to Polebridge for their session, one of my favorite areas in Glacier National Park (check out this Polebridge engagement session from last summer!). It’s quieter and a little off the beaten path, but that’s part of what makes it so special! It’s quiet, and so stunning, with mountain backdrops behind the stunning rivers and open fields in the area. Just make sure you are ready for a bumpy road getting there!

We started the session off at the iconic Polebridge Mercantile, grabbing a couple of huckleberry bear claws for the kids (a must try if you’re ever in the area!). After that, we wandered around while Shayna and her husband played with their kids, running, laughing, and just adventuring around together enjoying the beautiful day we lucked out with! It was one of those sunny, crisp autumn days that makes you want to stay outside all day! We really lucked out with the perfect weather that day.

I took a laid back, documentary style approach to this session (where I thrive!), which is exactly what Shayna was hoping for. Rather than posing or directing much, I just followed along as they played together, dug in the dirt, skipped rocks, and shared little moments together. We let the kids lead the way and I am so happy with how these photos turned out!
